Why is it that the English premier league teams are better than the ones in Spain & Italy?

Serious question.
For instance Real Madrid has as many highly rated players as Liverpool but in two games they couldn’t put up much of a fight.

Of the 3 italian teams that went up against english opposition, juventus did the best but the rest were so so.

Why do you think this is?

I was thinking the same thing a few days ago….mental process and physical strength is i think in favour of the English teams,,,,

I have a Yahoo football league. There is an issue with a few people that just sit online and wait for players to get hurt. I want to set it up so that all free agents are put on waivers once the games start. Can you tell me how to do this?

No idea, but with free yahoo fantasy, not possible

what leagues in Europe use a playoff promotion system involving teams from the 1st and 2nd leagues?

I’m not talking about the playoffs like they have in England.

Eg – The team who finishes third bottom plays the team third top in the next division.

I know Scotland used to use a system like this but scrapped it a few years ago, what leagues use a system like this?

England did use a similar system when playoffs were first introduced in the late eighties (1 team from div 1, 3 from div 2). Charlton retained their top div status in the first year in a memorable 2 legged encounter with Leeds but the following year Chelsea were relegated in a two legged final with Middlesborough. The Chelsea fans found it all too much and had a big riot so the league decided not to use teams from the higher division and the system was changed to the one we have today.

theyre not in NJ but my fav is the Lancaster Jethawks because my two favorite Red Sox prospects are on that team, Lars Anderson and Josh Reddick

Just like in England if you take a look at Inverness Ross county and so on then think about Huntly and Clydbank and so on (even tayport) do you think we could ever have a way into the league for the smaller teams of this country as in england surely it’d only be good for the game

I have been wanting this all along, and it will happen, you see clubs in the Highland and Junior teams with bigger average crowds than the second division.

To save the clubs traveling the length and breath of the country it should be on a regional basis, with North, South, East and West leagues, and the winners of these leagues, go into playoff’s, and possibly 2 teams go up into the 3rd division, with 2 going down into there Regional league.

whilst playing, and managing a team, SPRINGFIELD FC, in the sussex sunday league, we were in a cup final, against valley social centre, at lancing, culver road, we won the game 11-2, has any other team scored as many goals in a sussex sunday league, premier cup final, cheers alan.
