How are the premier league teams chosen?

I have been playing soccer for a long time, but i just recently started watching the premier league. I keep hearing they have to win this game to keep their place in the primimer league. Do they cut a team if the team does not preform well?
And where is the best place to find out what channel each game is on?
who replaces the bottom 3 teams

In European leagues, there is a system of promotion and relegation. In England, the bottom three in the Premier League get relegated to the Championship. The top two teams in the Championship get promoted to the Premier League. The final promotion place is won by the winner of a play off between the teams that finish 3rd-6th. This system of promotion/relegation continues all the way down to the smallest amateur clubs (although with different numbers promoted/relegated depending on the league) The top five leagues are national, after that the leagues cover regional areas, getting smaller the further down you go. This system means that someone can form an amateur team in their local league and eventually win promotion all the way up to the Premier League. This Wikipedia page shows all the different leagues. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_league_system#The_system

The bottom 3 with the lowest points get kicked to a lower league.

    3 points-win
    1-draw
    0-lost

Teams with most points at end of season wins a trophie.

Teams have to avoid being in the bottom 3 at the end of the season, otherwise they get relegated to the Championship.

The league is made out of 20 teams.
Each victory gives you 3 points
Each tie gives you 1 point
And each lost gives you 0 points.

The team which finishes first at the end of the season is the champions, and they are automatically in the UEFA champions league competition (so as second place).
Third and forth place are able to qualify for the champions league but they have to beat a different team from a different country.

No they don’t do anything to teams who doesn’t perform well they will just loose and finish last.

Now, the three teams which finish last at the end of the season go to the lower league – the "Championship" and the three teams from that league who finish first, second and third are promoted to the premier league.

To watch games it depends on which country you live in… For example in Britain "Sky Sport", I think that in the US it’s broad casted in ESPN or FOX SPORTS – check it online, in the cable company at your country.
You can also see it for free in live streaming online – many sites offer them – it’s not the best quality but it’s free…

and the top 3 from the championship gets promoted to the premier league. well technically to top 2 teams from the championship gets promoted, and the teams in 3rd 4th 5th and 6th place play in the play offs to get the final place in the premier league.
