Why is it that the English premier league teams are better than the ones in Spain & Italy?

Serious question.
For instance Real Madrid has as many highly rated players as Liverpool but in two games they couldn’t put up much of a fight.

Of the 3 italian teams that went up against english opposition, juventus did the best but the rest were so so.

Why do you think this is?

I was thinking the same thing a few days ago….mental process and physical strength is i think in favour of the English teams,,,,
Hope that helps…?

Cheers,Adrian

  2. England now has the most money and is going to attract the top players… The italian league has suffered the most, they have fallen way back to an extent where they ant even considered serious contenders for the champion league.

As for spain, barcelona are still a serious team a favourites for champion leahue i think, but real madrid are very poor. Players like Heinze and diarra wouldnt have been good enough to lase the boots of former players like zidane, figo and ronaldo. As for the likes of canavaro, guti and Raul they are simply shoving on.

  3. The easy answer is the money but you have to ask why does the EPL have so much money and attract a worldwide audience. Two reasons, first the style of play might not be seen by soccer purists to be as pleasing as La Liga, but it draws a worldwide audience. Second, that same style and intensity doesn’t let teams not used to dealing with it play. We’ll see what happens if and when Barcelona gets by Bayern – will they be able to cope with Liverpool or Chelsea? Wouldn’t shock me at all if the dream matchup of Manchester United and Barcelona ended up as an all-England final again this year.
