I have been trying to get a company to sponser my sunday league football team so that we can get a new kit as our old one is years old. We need £350 and are offering to put our sponsers logo on the shirts and the homepage of our club website aswell has hand out company brochures at our games! But im getting nowhere!!! Does anybody have any suggestions?? Thanks guys…..
You’re headed in the right direction, but you have to approach local small business owners at their place of business and sell them the idea. This might seem a bit unnerving, but getting more comfortable with this process is extremely valuable.
The best way to start is through common contacts. Do your parents have any friends who own businesses? Approach them first. In all cases, when you finished talking to an owner, always ask if he knows someone else who might be interested in sponsoring your team. That way, you can start your next conversation with a reference ("Hi, I was just talking to Sam at Sam’s Plumbing, and he told me you loved football and may be interested in some cheap advertising, and a chance to give back to the community. Here’s what we’re doing…).
Good luck!
Try asking local pubs. Agree to wear T Shirts bearing their name in return for sponsorship.

the team i used to play for (a while ago now so things may of changed) got sponorship by being cheeky and phoning local companies until we found a director with a passion for football who was happy to give us a bit of money.
just keep trying and phone some rich people with companies lol.
