Not confident playing for my sunday league football team?
November 20th, 2009 | by admin |i know that im quite good a football, during school i perform well during lunch and school football.but for my team im scared to do skills because im afraid other player would moan or my manager would have a go. how can i over come this matter. i want to perform well but im to scared. any advise would be helpful
The main thing to remember is that skill moves are great entertainment for those watching but you should always consider the best action for the team in any situation. If you know you can perform a skill move like a stepover or flick, etc, 99% of the time you attempt it, then it can be a great asset to get past a defender or perhaps guide the ball in to the net from an unexpected position.
Don’t be afraid of what your team mates or your manager says. No one is perfect all the time (have you seen Ronaldo at times this season?!) so it’s not the end of the world if you make a mistake. Also, try not to take things to heart – in the heat of a game we all say things we don’t mean and can take our frustrations out on the easiest target, which could be you if you’ve made the most recent mistake – but give it a few more minutes and it’ll be someone else!
Confidence is a huge part of the game, so don’t let anyone knock yours with words. You know you’re good enough and if you want to play, you’ve got all you need.
Good luck!
